Treatment Considerations
Treatment Considerations
Before you book your Pause Ritual, here’s a little bit of useful information.
My treatments are designed to safely support women navigating perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause changes — physically, emotionally, and hormonally. Everything I do is gentle, supportive, and tailored for you. That said, there are certain situations where we may need to adapt, delay, or seek medical clearance before proceeding. This protects you, your skin, your nervous system — and ensures you get the best possible care.
Important – Please Read Before Booking
If you are currently under medical care, being treated for any diagnosed condition, taking prescribed medication, or have had recent advanced aesthetic or surgical procedures, please contact me prior to booking so I can advise whether treatment is appropriate at this time.
This includes (but isn’t limited to):

- Ongoing medical supervision for hormone, adrenal or thyroid disorders
- Any form of cancer treatment (current or within 12 months post-treatment)
- Blood disorders, clotting issues or history of DVT
- Diabetes
- Osteoporosis or significant bone density loss
- Epilepsy or uncontrolled seizures
- Heart conditions or unmanaged blood pressure issues
- Advanced aesthetic treatments (including injectables, fillers, Botox, PDO threads, laser, peels, vampire facials, microneedling, and similar within recent months)
- Any surgical procedure (including cosmetic surgery) within the past 6 months
- Active infections (viral, bacterial, or fungal — e.g. colds, flu, chest infections, athletes foot, verrucas, warts or contagious skin/foot infections)
Active Skincare Products
- If you are using strong topical prescription skincare (such as prescription Vitamin A, strong retinoids or Roaccutane), unfortunately I am unable to offer facial treatments while you are using these products, due to increased sensitivity and healing risk.
- For non-prescription active ingredients (like over-the-counter retinol, acids, or intensive actives), I may recommend pausing them for 5–7 days before your treatment. I’ll guide you on this when we speak.
Waxing/Hair Removal
If you’ve recently shaved or had waxing (face or body), please allow for the following to allow your skin to settle and avoid irritation during/post treatment:
- Minimum 7 days before any facial
- Minimum 48 hours before any body or back massage
If you’re unsure — please ask.
If you’re not sure whether something applies to you, just contact me before booking at pause@thepauseroom.co.uk. My priority is always your safety, comfort and wellbeing.
We’ll work together to ensure you feel fully supported.
